TV Ministers Under Investigation
November 7th 2007 14:37
After it was brought to the attention of the top Republican Finance Committee, that there was some TV Minister spending large amounts of money and driving Rolls Royces. He has started an investigation into six well known TV Ministries.
Who includes, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyers, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland, Bishop Eddie Long, Paula White. The allegations involve governing boards that aren't independent and allow generous salaries and housing allowances and amenities such as private jets and Rolls Royces,"
Why stop with these six? There are many more that are living the lavish life styles as well. How about Al Sharpton? How about Jesse Jackson? They are afraid to investigate these two for fear of racism charges. How about Jesse Duplantis? How about Congress itself? How about the Presidental Candidates? (Hillary)
I believe that all Ministries should renounce their tax free status, and pay their taxes, and speak the truth. Having a tax free status does limit what you can preach in your pulpit, if the church wants to have freedom to preach the truth they must not be limited by bribes such as free taxes.
Jesus paid tribute, and we are no better. That's why our church does not ask for free tax status, and we are not limit in what we can preach or not preach, as long as it is the word of God.
Should these TV Ministers be investigated? Should Churches have tax free status?
What do you think?

I just think it is sad when a preacher preaches properity and he and his seems to be the only one in the church porspering. I cannot speak authoritatively to the issues of these pastors because I am not privy to any of the information about them, but it just makes me wonder the sincerity in the message when a pastor focuses more on the material than his flock, especially knowing how Jesus presented himself to all that came in contact with him. It may not be any wrong going on but it just makes you wonder. At least it does me.
Thanks,

I am a minister myself, and I do not take any money for preaching. My Church pays me nothing, and I like it that way. I preach because god called me to do so.
I have heard some of these TV Ministers preach before on television, and they preach prosperity. Which is a different message than what Jesus preached.
There was a rich young ruler that came to Jesus, and ask what must I do to be saved. Jesus told him to keep the commandments, and he said I have from my youth up. Then Jesus told him to go and sell all that he had, and give to the poor, and follow him. He departed from Jesus very sad, because he was not willing to give up his riches.
There was a certain scribe that came to Jesus and said master I will follow you were ever you go, and Jesus told him. The foxes have holes, and the birds have nests, but the son of man hath no were to lay his head.
I think you are right they have left off the message of Jesus, and living Christ like, and focus on riches which is not the message of Christ.

as far as prosperity preachers go. why on earth are people ever down on our pastors prospering. we have no problem with big execs flying jets and rolls royces. trust me. we've pastored churches and i don't think many big high up execs have to put up with what we have. being prosperous is totally biblical. i appreciate what you've said about checking out jesse jackson, etc. you bet this senator won't be doing that.

I don't think you should be taking money from the very poor, and then do what they have done driving Rolls Royces, paying 23,000 for a toilet seat wearing thousand dollar suits, and spending money like a drunken sailor.
At what point do you start to give back, I know it takes money to run a church, but lets not forget the poor.

I am a minister and I take no pay from my church to preach my income does not and will not come from the Church.
I feel if you have to pay to hear the gospel, or pay for someone to pray for you, that person doesn't have the love of God, and their prayers will not have any affect at all with God. If we don't have Love, we don't have God, for God is Love.
