Not to offend any one, but

December 24th 2007 11:30
Not to offend any one, but Merry Christmas,

Christmas means different things to different people. What does Christmas mean to you? To me it means the day that was set aside to celebrate the birth of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is a day that brings hope to a lost and hopeless world.

It is a day that God sent his best from heaven to mankind all over the world, and for everyone even if they don't want him, or refuse to acknowledge him.

It means that people which sat in darkness saw great light, and them that sat in the shadow of death light sprang up. To me Christmas is not the commercialized day that it has become, but a day of thanks to God for the gift of his Son Jesus Christ.

Christmas is a joyous time when families get together, spend some quality time with each other remembering, and getting caught up with one an other's lives. It's the one time of the year that most families get together.

It's a magical time to me, as most people get a little more joy, they greet you with a smile and a Merry Christmas, and they seem a little happier during the Christmas season. The Children are so excited with anticipation.

It's a time of the year that takes us back to our childhood of years gone by, and stirred in us the memories that we cherish.

Lets all remember without Christ, Christmas will just be mas

Luke 2: 8-13

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo the angel of the Lord came unto them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them Fear not, for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you, Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying.
Gory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Christmas was a start of something wonderful, it was the birth of Jesus. But that is not the end of the story by any means. The greatest gift was the death of our Saviour, for by that you, and I had our debt paid, and was granted access to God through Jesus his Son.

Jesus truly is the Gift that keeps giving, He is on the right hand of the father making intersessions for us today.

Once again Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

Very well said, Rev. Caudill! It's too easy for people to forget what tomorrow is really about. It never hurts to remind us!

To me it's the beginning of the pagan winter celebrations. Too many christians have been disillusioned by their own ignorance and think we celebrate Jesus' birthday on Christmas because that was when he was born when we actually are celebrating his birthday today because this happens to be the same time the pagans have their winter ceelbrations.

I celebrate Jesus' birthday closer to the time he was born, sure, nobody knows when he was born, but we have a good idea that he was born around either Summer or Spring as according to Luke's description of the time.

Hey Anonymous
I said I wasn't going to answer anonymous anymore, but I feel I need to here.

Dec. 25 is not the actual day, but it is set aside to observe the Lord's Birth. You are right it is in March according to Luke Gospel.

But since I can't change it myself,
Merry Christmas anyway.
