Dems split over Anti War Strategy.
A vote that was set for around veterans day may be pushed back, because Dems split on the anti war strategy. Some say it doesn't go far enough, and others say it goes to far.
The legislation will possibly be giving President Bush $50 million for the wars in Iraq, and Afghanistan. The money would come with conditions, that combat would end by December 2008, with just enough Troops let to battle terrorist, and protect America interest.
Liberal Democrats said it was to soft, and the not as liberal said it went to far. This forced House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to push off Friday's vote. The legislation contained a provision that would ban waterboarding, and other aggressive interrogation techniques, and restrict troop deployments.
Murtha guaranteed that President would have to accept timetables if he wanted to get the money. Pelosi said if President Bush vetos this bill she would not send him another for the rest of this year. This is similar to the bill that the President veto earlier, and did not have the votes to override it.
If the measure passes the House the Senate might take up the issue next week as well. Democrat Harry Reid Majority Leader said he didn't want to approve any spending for Iraq unless it changed President Bush's policies on Iraq.
Mitch McConnell Senate GOP Leader of Ky, said that the plan came at a bad time for the Liberals, because of the present Military progress being made in Iraq.
Can you Believe that story, I think that it is ashame that Democrats are using funding for our Troops that are laying down their lives in a war that they are winning.
How far will they go to put our Troops in further harm. Isn't it enough that they are fighting Terrorist, without being attacked by the Liberal Democrat Terrorist in Congress.
But that is just my opinion.
