Christians are perfect human beings...or should be according to the rest of society. It has come to my attention that in any given situation, a Christian is expected to respond and behave in a manner only possible by Jesus.
Christians are sinners. They are no greater or no less than any other person. Each of us falls short. The difference is that Christians recognise their behaviour and repent of it. Yes I may get angry and impatient, rude and selfish, but this does not incite negativity of the whole religion. What do athiests blame their behaviour on? Why is it allowable for the non-believer to swear at the driver who cut them off, but if a believer even sighs they are deemed a 'bad person'.
Do they teach you that at church?..is a common line. Christians choose to live their life according to biblical principles. They will still make mistakes, and will do things unappreciative of the teachings, but in essence, they aim to achieve a Christ-like self.
Religion is not an automatic mind cleanser. So next time you decide to curse a Christian for behaviours common to yourself, consider these thoughts and take the plank out of your own eye.
