Be Ye Perfect!!
Jesus told us to be ye perfect as your father which is in heaven is perfect. Some Christians say you can't live perfect, which when they say that, they are calling Jesus a liar. We can, and must live perfect if we want to go to heaven. I hope to show you how you can as you read this.
First of all you must be born again, not a natural birth, but a spiritual birth as Jesus told Nicodemus. Except a man or woman be born of the water and the spirit, they cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
How do we get born again, We must confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus , and believe in our heart that God raised up Christ from the dead, we shall be saved. For with the heart man believe unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The next step is being baptized, for baptism is the answer of a good conscience toward God. We are a new creature, old things have passed away, and we become a new creature in Christ.
It is up to us from that point forward to keep ourselves unspotted from the world. Jesus told the disciples to pray that you enter not into temptation. We must pray everyday, and seek God's guidance in our life. He also gives us a new conscience to guide us.
We must study God's word, and assemble ourselves together to worship God in the spirit and truth. In other words go to church. We must keep the first two greatest Commandments which is, Love the Lord God with all your heart, with all you soul, with all your mind. and strength, and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. If we keep these two, we will have no trouble keeping the others.
Let me tell you this you will never be perfect in the eyes of man. but if you have been born again, and do the best you know how to do, then you will be perfect in the eyes of God. That's all God expects us to do is our best, ones best may or may not be better than some one Else's best. Take your children for example if they do the best they can, aren't you proud of them.
Remember what John wrote, my little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
And he is the propitiation for our sins, and not for our only, but also for the sins of the whole world. So if we make a mistake, we need to pray, and ask God to forgive us and he will, and we go and sin no more.
