America's Second Civil War???

That sounds kind a like fiction doesn't it, well as we look closer into the matter maybe not so far fetched after all. America endured a bloody civil war a century and half ago that ripped this Nation, it was brother against brother. It was one of the Bloodiest times in American History. But our Nation finally healed, and went on to become the Greatest Nation known to man.

She has endured world wars, recessions, great depression, Liberal Democrat presidents, Terrorist Attacks, but the Civil war came closest to destroying her. Today we face the same problem, not because of Slavery, but because of partisan politics.

The pure dislike between the two parties has risen to a level never seen before, and it threatens America security. I am not trying to hide the fact that I am a conservative, and would love to see America back on the right, and standing for the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

With that said, we are first Americans, and second Republicans or Democrats. The tensions between the two Political parties have pushed America to the point it was in the civil war. The trash talk, hate speech, down right dislike between the to waring parties, have put a split in this great Nation.

It has brought our country to a stand still, nothing can get done because of the partisan politics. You may say politics has always been this way, no not this bad. Both sides uses rumors, lies, deceit, and down right liable means to demonized the other side.

The hate, and maliciousness has risen to a new level today, and when words no longer satisfy, violence will follow. Which has already happened as some of the Conservatives have been physically attacked by left wing liberal nuts that have gone to far at college campuses.

The Reasonable call for compromise, but radicals will never sit down and work things out. The Democratic Party is letting its base pull them further and further to the left to the point of no return. Hollywood, George soros, moveon.org, liberal college professors, pro-choice activist, Gun Control activist, Liberal Trail Lawyers, are all fueling the flames of rebellion.

I am not saying that Liberals are all to blame, Conservatives have done their share of trouble making, but not to the extreme that Liberals are going to. I fear if something is not done soon, and our elected officials doesn't step, and call for a calming down of the hostilities between the two parties, something could go very wrong.

It has gotten so that you can not have a reasonable conversation about politics, without someone being angry, and sometimes to the point of screaming, cursing, and even wanting to fight. Is America on the verge of another Civil war?

Thats about as hypocritical point of view I've ever read.

America has endured liberal presidents? isn't that just asking for trouble? I'm so sorry if America has had to endure Franklin D. Roosevelt - for four terms no less, but I suppose the process of voting doesn't gel with your pea brain when a liberal is elected.

So you claim to be an American first and a conservative second. Well thats great, so why can't you in your American way not call liberals names and accuse them of being a problem to this country you claim to love? When they get elected they do so because people vote for them, because Americans vote for them. Cry foul if you must but this system was created by people you claim to respect, this system which you say is flawless seems to be flawed because it allows the election of people who don't agree with you, yet you will go on and on hypocritically claiming that you like this system for the very same reasons.

Since when did it give you the right to treat their views as lesser than yours simply for being different? Your precious conservatives have been going to war, spending tax payers dollars on the aforementioned fruitless venture, have been involved in many sex related scandals and have advocated violence against people who disagree with them (see 'either with us or with the terrorists' mentality).

You need to get your head out of your ass and look around you, you're as much to blame as any other moron caught up with their own flawless opinions. You are not a good person, you're a bad dog and responsible for everything thats wrong with America.

Hey Anonymous first Franklin D. Roosevelt was not a Liberal he might have been a Democrat, but not a Liberal. The Democrat base today would not support him, because he was not left enough.

That's what wrong with the Democratic Party today they have let left wing nuts run the show for to long. Well that's where they get the money from.

Yes Liberals are what's wrong with America today, and they are getting more violent everyday. Just look at how you posted a comment on this Blog with anger, and the intent to say hateful things.

Looks like you proved my point, for me. There is going to be real trouble if people like you don't calm down, and get a gripe on yourself. Boy I am glad you Liberals don't have guns we all would be in trouble.

O but wait a moment you all are siding with the terrorist. So what you all hope to happen is that the terrorist will take care of us for you. But you all forget we are all in this together. If They destroy us they destroy you.

Why don't you show your Identity so we know who we are talking to. If you truly are a Liberal don't be ashamed of it God will forgive you if you stop it.

Interesting post.

The interesting thing is that I believe both parties in this case need to calm down, take a breath and then decide to talk to each other like adults.

To blame all the problems on liberals is, I believe, irresponsible. The first Americans WERE liberals, or at least, sick of religious persecution from the older, more established denominations.

Conservatives have made mistakes, and can be accused of many of the same things that they accuse the liberals of. I would like to say that I am not supporting either side in this. Merely pointing out that the fact is that both sides would have made some errors that neither of them want the others to keep talking about.

Liberality can (note, I said CAN, not will) lead to licenciousness but conservatism can lead to legality and stagnation. Which is a danger to any nation.

I do hope that America, as the power that she is, can come to agreement. With liberty and justice for all.

Hey, JoshZ both sides including myself needs to step back and take a deep breath. But sometimes we are so passionate about our beliefs we are a little uncompromising.

There is to much finger pointing going on, and it's from both sides, as I said in my post. What we need to do from here is to work to insure our country continues to be the great Nation it has been.

We have to many enemies trying to destroy us without us doing it for them. I can remember just after the attacks on 9/11 our Nation came together like no other time I can ever remember.

Liberal and Conservative stood together as brothers, and Sister, not political foes, we knew who our enemies were. We should still know who our real enemies are, and it's not each other.

Being a Liberal or Conservative depends I feel on how you was raised, and the beliefs that was taught you as a child, but all cases. I am not sorry for my beliefs, and I do hold a Christian Conservative view that I am not ashamed of.

I do believe in Liberty and Justice for all, That's why I wish America would go back to here roots, and to what it was founded upon.

Your heart is probably in the right place in the fact that you want a good and peaceful vision of your country.

You probably may not accept what I say but that does not matter in the big picture. All I do on Orble is write essays and see if they get any feed back.

From what I can see from US news reports, television programs, people who have visited and even bloggers is that America has become more polarized in recent times. Nations do that from time to time over social issues and social pressures.

Yet it is not an ideological battle between left and right or good and evil. It is battle over dozens of causes that one side or the other has decided to adopt like a mathematical formular.
Republican equals xyz which means pure good.
Democrat equals abc which means pure good.

Terms like liberal and conservative are meaningless without an agreed reference point to measure against.

Otherwise anyone who disagrees with you becomes then ideological enemy rather than a person with different point of view.

Hey Damo, Respect from both sides have been missing for so long. I am a conservative, and we are responsible for just as much trash talk as the Democrats.

You are right, both sides have issues they are not willing to give upon. But logic should prevail instead of all the partisan politics we see, and demonizing of each other.

If we are to busy arguing we can never sit down and get anything done. We are adults, and preach respect, but we don't listen to what we say, no wonder our kids doesn't listen to us either.

Both parties should lead by example.

You show a one-sided (and rather ignorant) view alot in this piece, but never so much as when you say Roosevelt wasn't a liberal. What about the "new deal" that neo-cons have been trying to dismantle? You have it backwards...years of neo-conservative pressure have shifted the balance to the right, where the Clintons are called "liberals" just because they don't advocate your dominionist policies. In fact, they are very "middle." What has happnened is corporate interests and high-level cronies have hijacked the American political system by keeping you contstantly distracted with "guns, gays, and abortion."
And I know fantasizing about a new civil war feeds your "Christian persecution" complex, but were not going to have one, not unless you all try to bring theocracy. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind a bit giving you all say, maybe TX, OK, AR, AL, MS, LA, GA and letting anyone who wants to move there go ahead, (of course, giving the free-thinking the chance to flee) and just have your own little paradise. Of course, we would have to insist on a few things. Like no nulcear weapons. No bringing back slavery or not letting women vote, no beating your children, etc..
But actually, no...we need to bring an end to fundamentalism in all its incarnations, not give it safe haven...

Hey Jeff, Franklin D. Roosevelt would freak out at you liberals today, you have gone pass Liberal to freaky liberal, there is no words to explain you all.

When you said the free thinking you actually meant the foul thinking. As far as the Clintons being the middle. The Clintons will be right, middle, left, and even left of left to suite their ownself interest. Not Real firm and steady leadership, but that's Liberal for you.

No we don't want to have our own little country we want our country back. A country we can be proud of without having to be a shamed of Abortion, or of gay marriage, or atheist, or of Gun banners.

(neoconservative), boy you like use this a curse word when it is something invented by Liberals to demonize the conservatives. You all preach on other posts agree to disagree, but when faced with the truth you can't handle the truth.
